Björn Lachenicht was slow to take the kick. During this time Freestylers's players had a chance to rest. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Evarado in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Peru booed when Freestylers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Evarado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freestylers's Yuan Lei Jing proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Freestylers from getting a goal against them. Yuan Lei Jing showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 played minutes Freestylers got a freekick which was hit by Cesc Freixes. Yuan Lei Jing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Matthias Büssinger tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yuan Lei Jing read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play.
