Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edmundo Espiga took the kick off in the first half of the match. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severino Bueno in the 22nd minute. Severino Buenos short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Lautaro Navarro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Eleven Young Elephants getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Zlatko Zahovič hit a great ball. Eleven Young Elephants's Aaron Tanti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Tafalla in the 30th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Honduras's Moises Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aaron Tanti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Edmundo Espiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aaron Tanti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Enzo Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severino Bueno in the 37th minute. Ma Fan's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ma Fan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st minute of the match Edmundo Espiga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aaron Tanti showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Milagros Cabal fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Milagros Cabal a yellow card for diving instead. Aaron Tanti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Severino Bueno sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Vilmos Szikora got a throw-in 57 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Fabio Savona. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Bueno's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Severino Bueno struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eleven Young Elephants. When Zlatko Zahovič came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Eleven Young Elephants fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zlatko Zahovič couldn't finish the play. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Espinar in the 76th minute of play forced Eleven Young Elephants's goalkeeper Aaron Tanti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enzo Perez kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Severino Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eleven Young Elephants's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Severino Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zlatko Zahovič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
