Alípio Rego came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Patricio Costa. But to his dismay, Patricio Costa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 12th match minute, Bembenfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vitor Roque to maneuver through the defense. Alípio Rego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Vitor Roque sent off a good shot on target. Bembenfica's Alípio Rego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 24th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alípio Rego quite easily take care of the ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alípio Rego having to interfere. 28 minutes into the match, Florian Terrasi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 2-1. After having played for 34 minutes, Florian Terrasi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bembenfica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florian Terrasi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Dario Orlan sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Dario Orlan tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Dario Orlan took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dario Orlan made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Dario Orlan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas fired a really elegant long shot, but Alípio Rego threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 62nd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Bembenfica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 65th minute Vitor Roque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rigoberto Enaut fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bembenfica's protests and gave Rigoberto Enaut a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Rigoberto Enaut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Orlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Orlan in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Bembenfica booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bembenfica fully deserved thier win.
