A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montenegro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The crowd rose to their feet as King Eken kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. Club Brugge were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. King Eken took the corner. King Eken who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Club Brugge's 孔磊傲 got a free kick in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, 孔磊傲 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Brugge's supporters rose to their feet, but 孔磊傲 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Stein Spoelberch. Club Brugge's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 26th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stein Spoelberch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stein Spoelberch narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stein Spoelberch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 40th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Brugge's Stein Spoelberch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Club Brugge from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Club Brugge's Stein Spoelberch got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Stein Spoelberch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance for a goal. 77 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Stein Spoelberch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 80 minutes of play, Club Brugge's 孔磊傲 made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Club Brugge made a substitution. Jan-Simon Elsen replaced 孔磊傲. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by King Eken in the 87th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Stein Spoelberch, 3-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stein Spoelberch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Stein Spoelberch in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Club Brugge to leave the ground with a draw.
