Chase Erwin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 38th minute of the match. Andy Franklin kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Hector Covarrubias made a precise shot to the right of Chase Erwin. American Airlines's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After the first half Paraguay were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jaime Pardo in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chase Erwin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 54 minutes into the match, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chase Erwin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarod Haskins kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Chase Erwin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Jaime Pardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chase Erwin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3.
