Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Tarcisio Campidelis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 17 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. A hard shot 19 in the game by Clemente Machado from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. In the 27th minute, Waldemar Nóbrega left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.D Garotos do Vale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ronaldinho Lima showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 30 minute of play. In the 34th minute, Waldemar Nóbrega left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.D Garotos do Vale fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Clemente Machado scored 5-0 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Clemente Machado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 6-0 in the 45 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. When Eliseo Noboa came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Noboa couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 57th minute of play forced A.D Garotos do Vale's goalkeeper Franklin Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 64 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. In the 65th minute, Clemente Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clemente Machado got in the 70th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Benito Sanz handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ronaldinho Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, A.D Garotos do Vale's Franklin Montenegro got control of the ball when Lautaro Puig tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseo Noboa kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 78th minute. The audience was convinced that Clemente Machado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 79th minute of the game.
