In the 69th minute Tiburcio Ishmael shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moises Fernandino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Godfredo Silbestre when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Agustin Nalo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the game, Abram Luque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pumas Fútbol Club the free kick. Abram Luque hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the El Salvador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pumas Fútbol Club.
