Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chase Erwin having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Xavier Zoido got a free kick in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, American Airlines's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Chase Erwin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Hector Covarrubias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Chase Erwin. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clark Holloway's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Jaime Pardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute, Hector Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a free kick in the 24th minute. Clark Holloway scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Nores, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. American Airlines's Clark Holloway got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Jaime Pardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the American Airlines defense, Hector Covarrubias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chase Erwin. The American Airlines fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chase Erwin should have stopped the shot. After having played for 42 minutes, Clark Holloway managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. American Airlines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clark Holloway was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jorginho Esteves in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. Clark Holloway struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for American Airlines. Clark Holloway took the ball and in the 49 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Pardo made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chase Erwin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. American Airlines's Chase Erwin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 69th minute of play. Paraguay were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after American Airlines's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Pardo took the corner. After 70 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Juan Diego Tenorio. The crowd rose to their feet as American Airlines's Clark Holloway slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jacobo Nores. That made the score 3-3 after 78 minutes of play. Clark Holloway in the 82ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jacobo Nores, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Chase Erwin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarod Haskins hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Primitivo Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pardo in the 93rd minute of play forced American Airlines's goalkeeper Chase Erwin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paraguay were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
