Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) El Salvador's Moises Fernandino started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ilazki Abadie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Abram Luque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Agustin Nalo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 11 minutes, Marco Tamayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Pumas Fútbol Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marco Tamayo hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. The supporters of Pumas Fútbol Club booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Yepes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agustin Nalo got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Godfredo Silbestre didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Fernandino went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute, Moises Fernandino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Godfredo Silbestre was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustin Nalo, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The audience was convinced that Moises Fernandino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Godfredo Silbestre was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Marco Tamayo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Pumas Fútbol Club's Edgardo Hustaz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 35th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ricardo Zorita but with some difficulty. Edgardo Hustaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Agustin Nalo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Moises Fernandino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moises Fernandino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Godfredo Silbestre made a huge save. Tiburcio Ishmael received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ilazki Abadie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustin Nalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute Ilazki Abadie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Moises Fernandino came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Fernandino couldn't finish the play. During the 74th minute of the match Abram Luque completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Abram Luque a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Pumas Fútbol Club booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abram Luque didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 78 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Jenaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Godfredo Silbestre made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Moises Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Talamanca hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The El Salvador players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Pumas Fútbol Club from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
