An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of play forced SvS's goalkeeper Tarık Vahapoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Osman Batur scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. In the 15thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SvS's Tarık Vahapoğlu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 17th minute of the match SvS got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Serter Tandoruk ran over to the corner to take the kick. Serter Tandoruk made a great header on SvS's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Tarık Vahapoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Refik Artuç in the 24th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Tarık Vahapoğlu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SvS's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tarık Vahapoğlu came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 40th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarık Vahapoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Nusrettin Zeki made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

In the 52nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by SvS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Juan Sebastián Puig got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tarık Vahapoğlu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 60 minutes into the match, SvS's goalkeeper Tarık Vahapoğlu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 70th minute, which Tarık Vahapoğlu however easily saved by the left post. 71 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Refik Artuç came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tarık Vahapoğlu made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, SvS's Tarık Vahapoğlu got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after SvS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 80th minute. Ahmet Refik Artuç sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to SvS getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Primus Imperatore hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osman Batur during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Osman Batur kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Nusrettin Zeki kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Luis Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. In the 95th minute Nusrettin Zeki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SvS.
