In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind DzYm Drink Team's goalkeeper Nayely Mora, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, DzYm Drink Team's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Nayely Mora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by DzYm Drink Team's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Nayely Mora despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet.
