The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo Cesare in the 5th minute of the match. Max Lange took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita's late challenge caught a Granbergs Goa Grabbar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Zorita helped the player get up and apologised. After 11 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Max Lange tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Granbergs Goa Grabbar's Max Lange proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Granbergs Goa Grabbar from getting a goal against them. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Cesare in the 40th minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Kevin Biörling fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Granbergs Goa Grabbar's protests and gave Kevin Biörling a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Granbergs Goa Grabbar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Biörling didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Lange saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Max Lange despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 97th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
