A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. 7 minutes into the match, Iwo Sawicki notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Pentti Ojala tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute Iwo Sawicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Tiger's Christo Bothenhain to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Pentti Ojala tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iwo Sawicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pentti Ojala's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 17 minutes of play, Tiger's Gaizka Mendieta made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Tiger booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Secada didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rigoberto Mina lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! Venezuela:s Jonathan Ferrant showed great skill when he stopped Christo Bothenhain:s penalty. In the 39th minute, Gaizka Mendieta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tiger fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 43 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Gaizka Mendieta came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iwo Sawicki had several of the Venezuela's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 46 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 5-0 score and a disappointed Jonathan Ferrant as he didn't even see the shot coming. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
The wind increased when Iwo Sawicki made the kick off in the second half. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christo Bothenhain in the 51st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christo Bothenhain, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 57th minute Pentti Ojala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gaizka Mendieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the game, one of Venezuela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Venezuela:s Jonathan Ferrant showed great skill when he stopped Christo Bothenhain:s penalty. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pentti Ojala in the 64th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th match minute, Tiger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudolf Speed to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thilo Heß, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thilo Heß in the 68th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. In the 75th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Tiger's Christo Bothenhain broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 80 played minutes Tiger got a freekick which was hit by Louis Leißner. In the 82nd minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pentti Ojala in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 90th minute Marten Weise shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. In the 93rd minute of the match Louis Leißner sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Tiger's Marten Weise got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pentti Ojala took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. There was no doubt that Tiger were the better team. Tiger's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
