An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans-Kristian Aanes in the 14th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sagene IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ivan Óbolo in the 15th minute. In the 19th minute, Ivan Óbolo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sagene IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. In the 27th minute of the match, Torstein Solli got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benito Sanz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 29th minute, Hans-Kristian Aanes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benito Sanz, passed just outside the right post. Glyn Wedlock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Sagene IF getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Raymond Michalsen hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Oscar Bergum kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Sagene IF made a substitution. Kjell Ekeli replaced Oscar Bergum. Hans-Kristian Aanes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Torstein Solli might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sagene IF had played much better football throughout.
