No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Betinho Lenzi in the 53rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jiang Yu Lin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The FALCÕES VERDES players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
