If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pawel Witwicki. In the 22nd minute of the match, Jonas Armendariz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jacobo Nores saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Jonas Armendariz came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Borussia Dortmund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Armendariz couldn't finish the play. In the 25thth minute of the game Jonas Armendariz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pawel Witwicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Matvey Izvolskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Shannon Slater got a free kick in the 29th minute. The audience was convinced that Jaime Pardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Norberto Scales was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Iker Tafalla hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Shannon Slater managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pardo in the 45th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Norberto Scales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Pawel Witwicki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Borussia Dortmund players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Paraguay were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonas Armendariz to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Norberto Scales. That made the score 0-2 after 51 minutes of play. Pawel Witwicki scored 1-2 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacobo Nores, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vaughn Cortes kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. With a little luck, Borussia Dortmund's Norberto Scales got control of the ball when Jaime Pardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Primitivo Escribano hit a great ball. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Escribano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute, Pawel Witwicki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pawel Witwicki in the 76th minute of play. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Scales having to interfere. Jonas Armendariz struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borussia Dortmund. After having played for 90 minutes, Jonas Armendariz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borussia Dortmund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Armendariz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Norberto Scales. Norberto Scales yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. The Paraguay players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
