The GNK Dinamo Zagreb™ fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Zachary Parzysz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 14thth minute of the game Zachary Parzysz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elder de Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 16th minute. If Zachary Parzysz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zachary Parzysz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Joshua Secada made in the 34th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Patricio Costa immediately put the ball in play. A collision led to GNK Dinamo Zagreb™ getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Bruno Šimunko hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elder de Toledo was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Alex Chicote made in the 46th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Lino Budimir. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Salvador Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Gürcan Orguntay quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 61st minute GNK Dinamo Zagreb™ were awarded a corner. Lino Budimir went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Lino Budimir got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Lino Budimir succeeded in the game's 62nd minute to get real power on a long shot . Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 3-0! A sloppy throw-in by Alex Chicote in the 67th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Gürcan Orguntay. Alex Chicote kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zachary Parzysz in the 72nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elder de Toledo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the match, GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s goalkeeper Elder de Toledo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. The supporters of Venezuela booed when GNK Dinamo Zagreb™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gürcan Orguntay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zachary Parzysz struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GNK Dinamo Zagreb™. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
