The supporters of Venezuela booed when Seagulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severin Kotrulev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nildo Matos's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, Nildo Matos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 2-0. Nildo Matos in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Seagulls's Nildo Matos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 3-0 after 30 minutes of play. Ben Rensenbrink hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Milosz Zgonina in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Aurelio Rexino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Mook sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Seagulls's Aurelio Rexino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Seagulls from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Michel Cremers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Severin Kotrulev hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Marco Mook received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Aurelio Rexino made a huge save. 68 minutes into the match, Nildo Matos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nildo Matos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. The audience was convinced that Nildo Matos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Nildo Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nildo Matos in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 94 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Matos came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Seagulls walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
