The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Abraham Alguacil made a precise shot to the right of Sammy Godts. Suikerklontjes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 6th minute, Johannes Weijnandts reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcos Cotilla. The goal made the score 1-1. Herald Van de Goor's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Herald Van de Goor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 10th match minute, Suikerklontjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herald Van de Goor to maneuver through the defense. Sammy Godts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Suikerklontjes's Johannes Weijnandts slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 4-1 after 22 minutes of play. In the 25th minute Yoachim Hauwaerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josef Rits hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 41st minute of play forced Suikerklontjes's goalkeeper Sammy Godts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Suikerklontjes's Herald Van de Goor got his second yellow card of the match in the 41st minute. The referee ordered Herald Van de Goor off the ground. In a very dangerous position, a player in Panama fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Marcos Cotilla, was totally fooled by Suikerklontjes's Josef Rits, who 45 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. After 50 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Alguacil. Alex Cambeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 64 minutes into the game, Suikerklontjes's Yoachim Hauwaerts nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-2. A collision led to Suikerklontjes getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Josef Rits hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the match, Suikerklontjes's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Sammy Godts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Panama booed when Suikerklontjes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boris Kortens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Berganza struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Sammy Godts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. Felipe Ros charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felipe Ros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Felipe Ros hit a great ball. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yoachim Hauwaerts in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 88th minute of play forced Suikerklontjes's goalkeeper Sammy Godts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sammy Godts was a little too slow when Tomas Berganza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 6-4. Bart Van de Velde scored 7-4 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
