After a rather tough play, Colombia's Axel Montenegro got a free kick in the 5th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcial Ourente kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. After 8 minutes, Lin Wei Feng mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flores Arlt and the Colombia players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Colombia booed when Flores Arlt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lin Wei Feng didn't get a good kick on the ball. Efrain Guillem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After 11 minutes Flores Arlt's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. A sloppy throw-in by Antonio Indiano in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Flores Arlt's Gerardo Bedoya. Axel Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flores Arlt's Efrain Guillem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 21st minute of play. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcial Ourente, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Axel Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efrain Guillem having to interfere. Flores Arlt's Gerardo Bedoya quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Antonio Indiano, made in the 36th minute of the game. Axel Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Efrain Guillem. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 39th minute of play forced Flores Arlt's goalkeeper Efrain Guillem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcial Ourente, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Flores Arlt's Gerardo Bedoya managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Antonio Indiano in the 43 minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Flores Arlt's Marcial Ourente sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Colombia's Abram Sarmiento managed to work through Flores Arlt's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Abram Sarmiento dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Flores Arlt made a substitution. Sabin Răchită replaced Marcial Ourente. 63 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Guaberto Henry came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 90 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Paulino Santxol who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Paulino Santxol almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Colombia's Pedro Manzanares did a great save. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Răchită in the 92nd minute of play. Flores Arlt's Efrain Guillem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Flores Arlt from getting a goal against them. With his leg Efrain Guillem managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Colombia's Abram Secada fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ignacio Mastache who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Efrain Guillem when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Flores Arlt were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
