Khai Choy kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Polo Maldini threw the ball into play from the sideline. Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Uruguay's Francisco Seco managed to work through Albirex Niigata FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. In the 59th minute, Maximiliano Escribano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hardo Kaarna struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albirex Niigata FC. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Camilo Franco got a free kick in the 61st minute. When Albirex Niigata FC's Hardo Kaarna in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gayoso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Francisco Seco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A hard shot 82 in the game by Francisco Seco from a close distance when the talented Christian Goy managed to make a qualified save. Albirex Niigata FC's players were relieved. In the 86th minute, Maximiliano Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Khai Choy in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo. The supporters of Albirex Niigata FC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Escribano didn't get a good kick on the ball.
