Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Durvalino Cavalcante started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 5th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. Amos Maietta might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amos Maietta ran back to his position shaking his head. Remo Paraibano scored 2-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Durvalino Cavalcante's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 22 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Durvalino Cavalcante. Itapema's Eugenio Ramundo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eliseo Noboa in the 28 minute of the game. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Alex Félix sent off a good shot on target. 31 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Loureiro came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Durvalino Cavalcante recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Durvalino Cavalcante showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 41st match minute, Itapema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magno Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa threw the ball into play from the sideline. Itapema's Remo Paraibano quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Félix in the 53rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Durvalino Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. 64 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Cavalcante came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Hugo Ferrant hit a great ball. Alex Félix recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itapema the free kick. Vladimir Albuquerque was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 74th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 79th minute, Durvalino Cavalcante got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliseo Noboa during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. Durvalino Cavalcante took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Durvalino Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 91 minutes of play Costa Rica's Efrain Moruga was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Itapema. Vladimir Albuquerque stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benito Sanz. 5-0. Alex Félix kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Itapema's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
