Paulo Victor was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Victor having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Victor saved Los Colegas del Barrio from getting behind. Garry Mason kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Los Colegas del Barrio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albi Solo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Victor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Los Colegas del Barrio's Cosme De Silva was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
