The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Waclaw Poremba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Oldenborger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of the match. Peter Oldenborger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in MK Investments's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Oldenborger came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sebastiaan Middeljans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play forced MK Investments's goalkeeper Peter Oldenborger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 played minutes MK Investments got a freekick which was hit by Gerard Lever. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Felix Montenegro sped through MK Investments's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Peter Oldenborger. 40 minutes into the match, MK Investments's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Peter Oldenborger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Oldenborger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Peter Oldenborger was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The MK Investments players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

Peter Oldenborger was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 55th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Peter Oldenborger. The goal made the score 0-4. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Daniel Zorita sped through MK Investments's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Peter Oldenborger. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastiaan Middeljans in the 62nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Oldenborger having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Juan Sebastián Puig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MK Investments the free kick. The supporters of MK Investments booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, MK Investments's goalkeeper Peter Oldenborger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenik Hoffhuis, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The MK Investments fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
