After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Xu Li Sang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xu Li Sang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Pedro Manzanares successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Bittencourt in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute, Pascual Carballar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Chico de Sousa sent off a good shot on target. After 10 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ruy de Brito who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Ruy de Brito got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Chico de Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Chico de Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chico de Sousa in the 15th minute. Dalmo Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jovens Democratas MZC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Axel Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. Axel Montenegro made a great header on Colombia's corner, it was just that Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha managed to reach the ball for a save. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Chico de Sousa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Jovens Democratas MZC's Xu Li Sang. But to his dismay, Xu Li Sang quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dalmo Saldanha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dalmo Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Montenegro in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dalmo Saldanha saved Jovens Democratas MZC from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th minute, Laerte Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Axel Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Dalmo Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 65th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jovens Democratas MZC made a substitution. Marco van Basten replaced Durval de Queirós. Jovens Democratas MZC's Mexhit Koçi was substituted for David Puyol. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abram Secada in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. After having played for 76 minutes, Kevin Mastache managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kevin Mastache was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco van Basten in the 79th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jovens Democratas MZC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ruy de Brito in the 80th minute. A nice corner shot did that Dobromir Zagrodny got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pascual Carballar was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Colombia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jovens Democratas MZC:s goal. Colombia:s Pedro Manzanares showed great skill when he stopped Chico de Sousa:s penalty. 86 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Loureiro came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chico de Sousa in the 88th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97th minute, Marco van Basten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jovens Democratas MZC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
