Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Aaron Barrios kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 42nd match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew Garrido to maneuver through the defense. After 45 minutes, Marcos Ekialde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pretoria Gostyń and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marcos Ekialde kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pretoria Gostyń's Lukasz Rekawiczka got a free kick in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Aureliusz Komornicki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere. After 55 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Garrido. Lionel-Andrés Messi kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Pretoria Gostyń's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Sylwester Chazon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lionel-Andrés Messi couldn't finish the play. In the 72ndth minute of the game Lionel-Andrés Messi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 78th minute of play forced Pretoria Gostyń's goalkeeper Sylwester Chazon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an all-out effort, Panama's Sylwester Chazon threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Panama were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Pretoria Gostyń's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Berganza took the corner. Miguel Miralles's late challenge caught a Pretoria Gostyń's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Miralles helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Pretoria Gostyń booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Miralles didn't get a good kick on the ball.
