Pretoria Gostyń's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomás Clodio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Nores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Primitivo Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Pardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aureliusz Komornicki in the 66th minute of play. After some careless play in the Paraguay defense, Lionel-Andrés Messi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. In the 78th minute Paraguay were awarded a corner. With a little luck, Pretoria Gostyń's Sylwester Chazon got control of the ball when Hector Covarrubias tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomás Clodio's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute Tomás Clodio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 91 minutes, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Pardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 96th play minutes Tomás Clodio shot 7-0, a short shot which went by Jacobo Nores and just under the crossbar into goal.
