Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miromir Czeszejko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, El Lobo's Miromir Czeszejko got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 15th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. El Lobo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, El Lobo's Joesph Dalton got a free kick in the 15th minute. El Lobo's Joesph Dalton got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joesph Dalton in the 19th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Joesph Dalton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. The supporters of El Lobo booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joesph Dalton, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Miromir Czeszejko. That made the score 1-1 in the 30 minute of play. Joesph Dalton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. El Lobo's Ulises Berdaitz got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, El Lobo's Julio Precioso got a free kick in the 36th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Miromir Czeszejko in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joesph Dalton to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Joesph Dalton managed to get in a good position for a shot. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 60 minutes into the match, El Lobo's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Miromir Czeszejko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of El Lobo's Miromir Czeszejko. Miromir Czeszejko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joesph Dalton in the 63rd minute of play. In the 64th minute of the match El Lobo got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Guillermo Santos ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 69th minute, Joesph Dalton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 71st minute of the match, Ceferino Ekhi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Agustín Saelices took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miromir Czeszejko. Miromir Czeszejko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. After 80 minutes, Joesph Dalton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Lobo and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 83rd minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Miromir Czeszejko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th minute of the match El Lobo got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Guillermo Santos ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to El Lobo's Lorenzo Ihintza getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal.
