The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Walthamstow the free kick. The supporters of Walthamstow booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Walthamstow getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Firdauz Chian hit a great ball. If Israel Reno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, Walthamstow's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Gage Pillai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. 27 minutes into the match, Beagan Colwell dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 2-0. In the 30th minute, Lautaro Puig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Edwin Lindgren kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 3-1 in the 34 minute of play. Alexander Carballo hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th minute of the match Israel Reno sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Firdauz Chian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walthamstow's supporters rose to their feet, but Firdauz Chian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Tasis in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gage Pillai saved Walthamstow from getting behind. Walthamstow's Gage Pillai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

In the 56th minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Axel Tasiss short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Gage Pillai to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Gage Pillai made a huge save. Axel Tasis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gage Pillai having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Israel Reno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Gage Pillai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Lindgren in the 84th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Azly Sum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Walthamstow booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walthamstow's Edwin Lindgren got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beagan Colwell in the 94th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Walthamstow's Gage Pillai got control of the ball when Axel Tasis tried to sneak it across the goal line. There was no doubt that Walthamstow were the better team. Walthamstow's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
