Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Zorita got the match started through his kick off. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Tony Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tony Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Vargas in the 17th minute of play. SE Palestra Itália were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adalberto Custódio took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Edson Fernandes managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Clayton Sergi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bruno Campon kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 minutes SE Palestra Itália's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clayton Sergi got free with Julio Vera in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Chaves having to interfere. With an all-out effort, SE Palestra Itália's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Betão Vargas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 37 minutes into the match, Betão Vargas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Betão Vargas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some careless play in the SE Palestra Itália defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Chaves. The SE Palestra Itália fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Chaves should have stopped the shot. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Betão Vargas made a kick off. After 54 minutes of play, SE Palestra Itália's Bruno Campon made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! SE Palestra Itália made a substitution. Bruno Dias replaced Caetano Félix. 61 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adalberto Custódio was slow to take the kick. During this time SE Palestra Itália's players had a chance to rest. Agustín Saelices's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tony Chaves firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tony Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 65th minute of the match. SE Palestra Itália's Cristóvão Madureira was substituted for Acar Buğrahan. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 86th minute, Betão Vargas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tony Chaves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Campon in the 90th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Bruno Campon made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2.
