Axel Tasis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 17 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. Alan Moruga made in the 21st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lautaro Puig. After 22 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. Evert de Jaeger came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Axel Tasis. But to his dismay, Axel Tasis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Eliseo Noboa charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliseo Noboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 30 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. Hugo Ferrant's late challenge caught a MK Investments's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th minute, Hugo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Evert de Jaeger came out and tried to block the shot, but Eliseo Noboa slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 37th minute. After 40 minutes, Christijan Eringa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MK Investments and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Lautaro Puig fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Lautaro Puig a yellow card for diving instead. Eliseo Noboa made in the 59th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by MK Investments's Henk Vos. Juan Rubio's late challenge caught a MK Investments's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Axel Tasis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Hugo Ferrant in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by MK Investments's Ger Rodenberg. 83 minutes in the game Efrain Moruga did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Eliseo Noboa. Evert de Jaeger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 85th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in MK Investments's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evert de Jaeger came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. MK Investments's Peter Staal managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Efrain Moruga in the 92 minute of the game. In the 93rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of MK Investments booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
