Monty Rogers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Davison having to interfere. Robert Davison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 19th minute of the match. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cassius Byrne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olli Fiedler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robert Davison didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cassius Byrne went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet as Monty Rogers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Robert Davison. That made the score 0-2 in the 61 minute of play. Sportivo Luan Toro's Martins Palermo was substituted for Olli Fiedler. Sportivo Luan Toro's Ricardo Mendez was substituted for Jo Barone. Sportivo Luan Toro made a substitution. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martins Palermo in the 68th minute of play. In the 78th minute Sam Campbell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Davison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. USA were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Sportivo Luan Toro's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jenson Smith took the corner. USA's Jenson Smith was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Robert Davison in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ricardo Mendez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute Martins Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Martins Palermo notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of USA's Marco Day. Marco Day was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. USA were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
