Ruperto Rainerio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Despite this Ruperto Rainerio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ruperto Rainerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 15th minute of play. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lautaro Mancebo in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruperto Rainerio saved Leon Platense from getting behind. Ruperto Rainerio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Leon Platense getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Gaafar Carrillo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Leon Platense's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruperto Rainerio came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 35 minutes of play, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ruperto Rainerio was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Dario Hussain tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval got a free kick in the 46th minute. The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. A hard shot by Luca Zorita from long distance, 65 minutes into the match, got Ruperto Rainerio's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ruperto Rainerio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 68th minute of play. After 69 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Leon Platense's João Francisco Vidal. But to his dismay, João Francisco Vidal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
