With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roque Narvaja prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 17th minute of the match La Bichineta got a corner. Deportivo Mandiyu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dariusz Motyl ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on La Bichineta's corner Dariusz Motyl fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Roque Narvaja quite easily take care of the ball. After 17 played minutes Deportivo Mandiyu got a freekick which was hit by Aristides Hermelando. 19 minutes into the game, Hauk Hareide cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Roque Narvaja was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roque Narvaja didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hauk Hareide went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 25 minutes Deportivo Mandiyu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. A nice corner shot did that Dariusz Motyl got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Roque Narvaja quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Octavio Nueva hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Silvestre Peli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aristides Hermelando in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched La Bichineta eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
