Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cai Inestrosa started the match with the kick off. Southern Thrashers's Eliot Pfingst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute. Eliot Pfingst stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliot Pfingst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Eliot Pfingst. Southern Thrashers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliot Pfingst. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Felix Montes charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Montes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Angelino Ospin. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Eliot Pfingst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Southern Thrashers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelino Ospin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes Southern Thrashers got a freekick which was hit by Nurkan Salah. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliot Pfingst read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Southern Thrashers's Cai Inestrosa got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nurkan Salah in the 90th minute of play. Dan Cubitt charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dan Cubitt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd minute, one of Southern Thrashers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Southern Thrashers. If Nurkan Salah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
