In the 3rd match minute, AZ Sidion Gravina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bud Spencer to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AZ Sidion Gravina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bud Spencer didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as AZ Sidion Gravina's Lorenz Klaßen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. Beppe Natalucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 15th minute of play. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Qi Fei tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Karl Bergkvist struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AZ Sidion Gravina. In the 34th minute, AZ Sidion Gravina's Natal Teruel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 37th minute of the match, Qi Fei tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With 43 minutes on the clock, Rigoberto Mina commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Qi Fei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qi Fei in the 56th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Qi Fei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Qi Fei had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Qi Fei was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. AZ Sidion Gravina's Elia Ciarrocchi was substituted for Natal Teruel. AZ Sidion Gravina made a substitution. Emiliano Rosa replaced Qi Fei. AZ Sidion Gravina made a substitution. Ercole Brunetta replaced Azem Mønster. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dries Berendt in the 81st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81stth minute of the game Dries Berendt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 82nd minute, Salvador Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenz Klaßen, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Alex Chicote got a free kick in the 90th minute. There was no doubt that AZ Sidion Gravina were the better team. AZ Sidion Gravina's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
