The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Braulio Rocio's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braulio Rocio helped the player get up and apologised. After 3 played minutes SOUTH AFRICA got a freekick which was hit by Braulio Rocio. In the 4th minute of the match, Tomas Illescas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Romeo Dominic was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 5 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Rolf Roppel came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolf Roppel in the 5th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Romeo Mel managed to get in a good position for a shot. SOUTH AFRICA's supporters rose to their feet, but Romeo Mel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Domeka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolf Roppel in the 18th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Romeo Mel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. In the 26th minute, Rafael Domeka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolf Roppel in the 29th minute of play. Romeo Mel scored 0-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Romeo Mel managed to get in a good position for a shot. SOUTH AFRICA's supporters rose to their feet, but Romeo Mel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Domeka, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Dominic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Rafael Domeka left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SOUTH AFRICA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when SOUTH AFRICA's Rafael Domeka fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 55 played minutes SOUTH AFRICA got a freekick which was hit by Wellington de Andrade. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Braulio Rocio in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Romeo Mel sent off a good shot on target. SOUTH AFRICA's Romeo Dominic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 63rd minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Rolf Roppel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rolf Roppel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 71 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Domeka came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeo Mel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Mel in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Ted came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SOUTH AFRICA's Arsenio Oinatz was substituted for Chen Jing Li. SOUTH AFRICA's 钱迪竞 was substituted for Cavit Sanay. In the 86th minute, Patricio Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romeo Dominic was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. After 90 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Secada. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 张洲荣, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rafael Domeka who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, SOUTH AFRICA's 钱迪竞 got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Romeo Dominic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Venezuela fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SOUTH AFRICA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
