The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MALÉV SC's Kálmán Gyarmati did a great save. MALÉV SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Mancebo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. MALÉV SC's Kálmán Gyarmati played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 51st minute of play. Kálmán Gyarmati showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 56th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of MALÉV SC's Kálmán Gyarmati. Kálmán Gyarmati was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kálmán Gyarmati. Kálmán Gyarmati dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-3. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kálmán Gyarmati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-3. Kálmán Gyarmati was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Béla Pásztor in the 95th minute of play. Mexico's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
