In the 40th minute, one of FC Bansko:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Bansko. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Dimitar Vetzov threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dimitar Vetzov made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Paun Atkov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, FC Bansko's goalkeeper Dimitar Vetzov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. 65 minutes into the match, FC Bansko's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Dimitar Vetzov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! Paun Atkov shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 94 played minutes FC Bansko got a freekick which was hit by Hristiyan Karaleev. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
