Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 柯默渊 received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but 柯默渊 slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 13th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 柯默渊 in the 17th minute of play. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fred Bonk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in 福建宁德活塞队's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fred Bonk came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Joshua Secada pulled a muscle in his leg after 31 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 康云光 charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed 康云光 the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes 福建宁德活塞队 got a freekick which was hit by 康云光. The 福建宁德活塞队 fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when 福建宁德活塞队's 方桑正 looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye 福建宁德活塞队's goalie prevented a goal. After 45 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Fred Bonk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 52nd minute of play. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 3-2 when 方桑正 sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 柯默渊 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 柯默渊 in the 66th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 方桑正's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 柯默渊, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 71st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fred Bonk. Fred Bonk yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. After 80 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. 福建宁德活塞队 made a substitution. Edoardo Zollino replaced 彭挺远. 83 minutes into the match, 福建宁德活塞队's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Fred Bonk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, 方桑正 made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. After 95 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. 96 minutes into the match, 福建宁德活塞队's 程奕珂 broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the referee ended the match the 福建宁德活塞队 players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
