Víctor Valdés was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 7 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Felix Luque. Coronel Paredes struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calaflores FC.. In the 10th minute, Manuel Zubiaga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Calaflores FC. getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Dionisio Zubizarreta hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víctor Valdés saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Coronel Paredes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Zubizarreta in the 23rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Calaflores FC.'s Dionisio Zubizarreta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barros Cifuentes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. If Gaskon Rubio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calaflores FC.'s Víctor Valdés played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 39th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Víctor Valdés in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 54 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Zubiaga came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play.
