In the 12th minute, Alberto Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Coronel Paredes in the 15th minute of the match. 15 minutes in the game, Coronel Paredes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Dionisio Zubizarreta kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Gaskon Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víctor Valdés saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 23 in the game by Dionisio Zubizarreta from a close distance when the talented Dante Lacasa managed to make a qualified save. Mexico's players were relieved. In the 26th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víctor Valdés saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Calaflores FC. getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Dionisio Zubizarreta hit a great ball. Dionisio Zubizarreta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Coronel Paredes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Víctor Valdés made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Víctor Valdés tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Zubiaga came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Tafalla in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Víctor Valdés, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alberto Tafalla who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Víctor Valdés when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 83 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Zubizarreta came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calaflores FC.'s Víctor Valdés played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 84th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Calaflores FC.'s goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Víctor Valdés reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barros Cifuentes helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Calaflores FC.'s zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Víctor Valdés came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
