The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 14th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Hellqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kumla BK's Fred Hellqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play. Fred Hellqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 20thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kumla BK's Fred Hellqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Ulf Ahlqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fred Hellqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute. Ecuador's Felix Montes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fred Hellqvist in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fred Hellqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred Hellqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Per Forss came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per Forss couldn't finish the play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Fred Hellqvist in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fred Hellqvist firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 55th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Kumla BK's Fred Hellqvist got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led Ecuador's Cristian Sancho to fire away a dangerous shot which Fred Hellqvist despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Kumla BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 82 played minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fred Hellqvist came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ecuador reached it. Jörn Hult charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jörn Hult the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Kumla BK getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Jörn Hult hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Forss, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fred Hellqvist. The goal made the score 0-3. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kumla BK throughout the match.
