Peru's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arrecifes the free kick. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Alonso Berganza hit a great ball. Arrecifes's Hipolito Laurendi was substituted for Natanael Matorin. After 47 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Alonso Berganza. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Cirilo Ritchie made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Milagros Fraga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The supporters of Peru booed when Arrecifes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin De Bruyne didn't get a good kick on the ball.
