The supporters of Centeno booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Toro Halland in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hakan Kaan scored 0-3 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 25 minutes into the match, Toro Halland had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toro Halland was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute Toro Halland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Centeno's Abelardo Bernabel. But to his dismay, Abelardo Bernabel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 33rd minute, Toro Halland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Centeno fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. 36 minutes into the match, Centeno's Toro Halland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toro Halland's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute, Abelardo Bernabel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. When Abelardo Bernabel came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Centeno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Bernabel couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toro Halland in the 43rd minute of the match. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abelardo Bernabel went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. In the 46th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-8.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toro Halland in the 53rd minute of the match. Abelardo Bernabel had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 55 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-9 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the game, Toro Halland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-11. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toro Halland went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-12 was the resulting score. In the 72nd minute, Dariusz Adamski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-13. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Abelardo Bernabel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abelardo Bernabel struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Centeno. 84 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Toro Halland came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abelardo Bernabel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Centeno's Eugenio Ixidor was substituted for Abelardo Bernabel. Toro Halland scored 0-15 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
