After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 19th minute. Manuel Lajoie came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Volker Unger in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tudor Caragea was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Tudor Caragea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, FC Werdenberg's Manuel Lajoie got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diego Miranda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Lajoie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 62nd minute of the match. Manuel Lajoie made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evgeniy Babich in the 68th minute of play. Ferdinand Lobonț hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Daniel Zorita from long distance, 74 minutes into the match, got Manuel Lajoie's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 77th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Manuel Lajoie. FC Werdenberg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evgeniy Babich in the 85th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 87th minute of play forced FC Werdenberg's goalkeeper Manuel Lajoie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, FC Werdenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Manuel Lajoie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 played minutes FC Werdenberg got a freekick which was hit by Diego Miranda. Manuel Lajoie made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ecuador walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
