With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Rauno Koba tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 11 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Zorita. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rauno Koba got free with Dante Lacasa in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 17 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kristjan Jaani. After 20 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Koit Vaikma was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Georg Oher in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rauno Koba in the 38th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Georg Oher sent off a good shot on target. In the 46th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rauno Koba to make the kick off. Lin Jun Xuan's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Koit Vaikma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georg Oher in the 62nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Vila's Georg Oher got a free kick in the 64th minute.
