Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Alfred Hitchcock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Alfred Hitchcock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Garry Vercauteren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Garry Vercauteren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Garry Vercauteren. Brighton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 16th match minute, Brighton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Pillai to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 16th minute of play forced Brighton's goalkeeper Garry Vercauteren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Albert Lim fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Brighton's Muhammad Kang got a free kick in the 26th minute. Steven Boon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when SK Ramachandran tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Hitchcock, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Hitchcock in the 46th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfred Hitchcock to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfred Hitchcock's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Garry Vercauteren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Brighton's Steven Boon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute Alfred Hitchcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfred Hitchcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Brighton's goalkeeper Garry Vercauteren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 69th minute, Joshua Secada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute, Alfred Hitchcock left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brighton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Alfred Hitchcock hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Garry Vercauteren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua Secada in the 74th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garry Vercauteren having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Brighton's Alfred Hitchcock. But to his dismay, Alfred Hitchcock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Garry Vercauteren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 95th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garry Vercauteren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Brighton had played much better football throughout.
