In the 35th minute, Tomas Illescas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Wonderkids's Didi Dionísio didn't even have to move. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Borys Trac in the 39th minute. After 40 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. 罗挺树 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Borys Trac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. If 罗挺树 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vegim Cvetkovski's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vegim Cvetkovski helped the player get up and apologised. After 46 played minutes Wonderkids got a freekick which was hit by Vegim Cvetkovski. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
