Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Cristian Sancho was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Emílio Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 4th minute of play. In the 8th minute Dorian Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. 15 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emílio Bittencourt. LUC1F3R R1S1NG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Emílio Bittencourt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 18th minute of play. Emílio Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of play forced LUC1F3R R1S1NG's goalkeeper Emílio Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dorian Varela had several of the Ecuador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 31 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. Agustín Saelices might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emílio Bittencourt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Saelices ran back to his position shaking his head. Emílio Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Eduardo Quintal got free with Julio Vera in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian Varela in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Emílio Bittencourt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 51st minute. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emílio Bittencourt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. After 62 played minutes LUC1F3R R1S1NG got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Vidal. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dorian Varela came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorian Varela in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorian Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 89th minute Dorian Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dorian Varela's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. The LUC1F3R R1S1NG players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
